The driver of a hire car, HC 407, is said to be in a critical condition at the West Demerara Regional Hospital after the vehicle he was driving was involved in a head-on collision with a minibus (BPP 700) in the vicinity of La Union, West Coast Demerara. The accident occurred shortly after 6:00 hrs on Thursday morning.
Eyewitnesses told this publication at the accident scene that the car was heading in the direction of Parika, while the minibus was heading for Georgetown when they collided at La Union village. Traffic ranks from the Vreed-en-Hoop Police station were at the scene carrying out investigations.
